This evening has been super-productive. I actually managed to clean this freaking place, which has been neglected for weeks while I write, and I feel so much better, which is good because we have a social engagement with a couple friends tomorrow which will cut short my time to both write and maintain a household that isn’t three inches deep in dust and grime.
I have five scenes left to rewrite and then a full pass to make over the whole product, and then it should be ready for CPs to tear apart with abandon so I can put it back together again. *is scared* In the meantime, there are a couple of things for you to do.
The first is you should check out Gwendolyn Conover’s completely adorable picture book, Robot Party. She’s a finalist in a contest for a publishing contract and to have a library donated to an elementary school of her choice. She was chosen by a panel from 400 entries, but the winner is now decided by popular vote. No obligation – you should have to follow the link I put up here, click “like” and call it a day. Oh, and read the book because it’s right there and it’s just awesome. I don’t have kids yet, but I want it so I can hypothetically read it to them someday.
There’s also Rachel Harrie’s Fourth Writers’ Platform-Building Campaign, which I can’t participate in because I think if I try to do that while finishing a WIP, critting another’s, planning a wedding and NOW moving into our first house, I’ll go crazy and die. BUT it’s an awesome opportunity, so sign up here and then join groups here.
And now I need to get to work.
