Lucky 7 Meme – Alternate Title: Frustration in Hospital Hallways

Bonnie Rae and K.T. Hanna both did open tags on their Lucky 7 meme posts, so I’m taking the opportunity to tag in on at as well. Mostly because it just seems like fun.

To be honest, I’m usually quite secretive about my WIPs. I held off on revealing the title of my current project anywhere until I entered the pitch contest and it was posted on Brenda’s blog. It feels a bit moot to play it all close-to-the-chest now after that, so I’m sharing a snippet. If you haven’t seen the Lucky 7 meme, then it works like so:

  1. Go to page 77 of your current MS.
  2. Go to line 7.
  3. Copy down the next 7 lines/sentences, and post them as they’re written. No cheating.
  4. Tag 7 other authors.

I’m following others and choosing not to tag. If you want to share snippets, then I think you should. If you want to 7-it-up, then do it. I’d love to read it. Anyone who wants to share 8 lines from line 8 on page 88 or 9 lines from line 9 on page 99 in the comments, you should do that, too. 🙂

If they were the cast Angela, this is the closest actress I can think of who would pull her off well.
So here’s the lucky seven from PECULIAR DARK:

Angela grunted.

“God, that was… That was crazy.”

“Tell me about it.” She dragged her fingers through her hair, tugging on the ends. “I didn’t know we’d be able to do anything like that. I mean, he’d told us – Wy told us – but it’s not the same as actually seeing it happen.”

“It’s probably going to make the internet.”

“Oh, god. Probably.” She abandoned her hair and scrubbed at her face instead.

Not a particularly action-packed section, but I have to say that I was kind of excited that this is where the lines came from. It’s a nice, quiet, brief moment between two characters, and I always like those better than the big moments. The in-between times.

I’m out of town tomorrow, and I won’t be back till late Monday. If I do bring my laptop, I won’t be online. It’s a trip for emotions and families, and The Man will need all of my energy and attention. So I hope everyone finishes March #WriteMotivation strong and wish all of you will. We’ll see you in April.

  1. You know, I’m not much one for picking real people for my characters, but she’d definitely be a good choice for Angela.

Also – love the snip and I know how you feel about sharing titles, premises… anything about your book. I was the same until I entered a pitch contest… and now I’m still the same LOL

I’ll miss you, but I understand *hugs* Be strong and we’ll be here when you get back ❤
